Restart’s vision Our vision is about supporting people in prison, those transitioning out of prison and their family members. We provide services and information to empower and enable them to reintegrate back into the community with dignity and self-respect, free of the negative impacts brought about by imprisonment. As a social enterprise and service user led organisation we work with our clients offering services above and beyond contractual arrangements. Responding to service user feedback in 2017, Restart opened a Community Hub in the prison grounds of HMP Oakwood, Brinsford and Featherstone to provide: • Subsidised Shuttle service providing affordable transport to families visiting loved ones and prisoners being discharged who are vulnerable, isolated or financially challenged. • Restart Food Share providing emergency food and support to families in need due to their loved ones and main wage earner being in prison. • Social enterprise Café offering free refreshments to those released every morning and their loved ones so they have a convenient space to interact for the first time outside the confines of the prison as well as providing a service for visitors. • Catering service employing men released on temporary license. Acting as a catalyst for training and employment allowing participants to transition into the hospitality industry.
