My Native Chef is a platform for local farmers, growers and food producers to connect with each other and local residents. It is an online marketplace for local affordable food that is nutritious and sustainable. Using digital mentoring and skill development My Native Chef aims to create a thriving market of local home-cooks who buy from local farmers and cook and sell healthy affordable food to the elderly, the less well-off, the carers pressed for time, the single working mothers and everyone else. It aims to create a self-sustained local food ecosystem and a community connected through food. In addition, we strive to enable people of different ages and abilities to earn a living through a dignified and creative means: cooking, baking, growing vegetables. We will do this by continually mentoring them and upskiling them as well as by providing them a thriving online market with consistent demand. Fairness of access to proper food, belonging to a community and control over a dignified livelihood are our primary values.
