Kakou CIC

Kakou CIC

Kakou is a social enterprise looking to identify and remove barriers that disabled from accessing mainstream music, creative arts and wellbeing participation. We aim to do this in three ways: 1. Design and manufacture inclusive technology products, offering mainstream features that are accessible to all, without the need for special adaptation. 2. Research and develop new technologies to provide the disabled with opportunities to participate and collaborate in inclusive environments. 3. To facilitate inclusive workshops promoting the engineering sciences and creative arts. Kakou’s mission is to promote social cohesion through respect, inclusion and diversity using the power of the engineering sciences and the creative arts. We believe that when barriers are removed, disabled people can be independent and equal in society. Through collaboration, encouraging diversity in our social groups and enhancing peoples’ understanding of differences; the arts can help tackle both prejudice and accessibility, moving towards a fairer, more caring and more inclusive society.
