Therapeutic Recreational Experiences for Everyone (TREE) CIC

Therapeutic Recreational Experiences for Everyone (TREE) CIC

Profile

We are aiming to produce a model of forestry management that can be used more widely by other plantation owners by: • Getting financial return from tourism and the sale of thinned timber • Enhance the habitat by allowing healthy Sitka spruce to grow to full maturity by selective thinning and interplanting with broad leaf saplings • This allows the maintenance of sequestered carbon as well as the continued sequestration of carbon • We want to use the woodland to enrich the lives of the wider community by: 1. Offering recreational woodland experiences including traditional woodland tasks 2. Using the thinned timber to build log cabins for schools and other organisations and charities 3. Offering the woodland as a venue for organised groups such as schools, Scouts, Guides, Young Carers etc. 4. Collaborate with other groups and organisations to promote wellbeing and access to nature
