First Ball Academy promotes equality in cricket through the provision of excellent coaching and developmental opportunities to a diverse membership base. Our Partnership Achieving Cricket Equality (PACE) aims to increase awareness, engagement and inclusion of underrepresented groups including BAME, girls and those from low income families. We offer year-round Academy training, free after-school clubs in state school ‘Hubs’, scholarships for those exhibiting talent and/or potential and promote Young Leader initiatives. FBA encourages pathways into coaching, umpiring, captaincy and team management as well as personal development in terms of assertiveness, fitness, mental health, wellbeing and further and higher education in sport related careers. Income is generated through a Pay What You Can system for Academy members, an internationally accessible online membership offering mentoring, forums and surgeries and grants. We will sell kit, equipment and aspire to gain a home ground with a diverse range of Academy and community supporting monetised offerings.
