British Association for Fair Trade Shops & Suppliers

Profile

BAFTS Fair Trade Network UK aims to be the voice of fair trade retailing in the UK as a network of retailers and wholesalers who use fair trade to improve the lives of disadvantaged people in the global south. We are membership organisation, promoting social justice through international trade, and whose members comply with the Ten Principles of Fair Trade. BAFTS shop members sell a minimum of 60% fair trade goods and supplier members work in 28 countries across the developing world. The Ten Principles cover issues such as child labour, gender equality, transparency, capacity building and environmental sensitivity and ensure members deal ethically wherever in the world they work.
