Neenton Community Society is a Community Benefit Society with charitable objects of rural regeneration formed to breathe new life into a dying village which, since the closure of the Pheasant Inn in 2006, had become just a collection of houses with no public space or facilities other than the small church. The Society has restored and now runs the Pheasant Inn which it owns as the social and economic hub for the village and surrounding area. Established as an award-winning country inn with guest accommodation, renowned for the quality of its food, the Pheasant brings trade from far afield and thereby provides local young people with employment, training and the opportunity to develop their life skills in a supportive environment. Underpinned financially by visitor trade, the Pheasant premises is also able to be the treasured local and the centre of all aspects of village life for our small rural community.
