We provide learning opportunities for young people who have an interest in software development, or in basic coding, but who have not had the opportunity to access learning in this area. For those who are keen on software development, who may not necessarily have the opportunity to go to university and don't have the social network to help them into a job or an apprenticeship, we provide an experience of working in a software development team for young people. Our software development teams build apps for charities and community groups. We help our young developers to build technical and social skills and provide a platform for them to demonstrate what they can do. For those who want to learn basic coding, we run community workshops, provide an online social learning space (Code Canteen) and support schools to offer coding to pupils. Our basic coding courses provide a progression route into our work experience programme which, in turn, provides a progression route into traineeships and apprenticeships.
