ReconnectEd is a social enterprise (CIC) set up to help young people at risk of exclusion thrive in mainstream school. We provide a trauma-informed coaching programme to support young people facing adversity in order to enhance social mobility. ReconnectEd aims to address the root causes of exclusion, strengthen the wellbeing and resilience of young people and facilitate change within the system. ReconnectEd coaches are recruited from the young people’s communities because they understand the issues the young people face. We reach the young people through Multi-Academy Trusts (‘Trusts’) in areas of deprivation and work in close collaboration with their schools and local stakeholders. ReconnectEd also provides rigorous training and regular supervision for our coaches to ensure the young people at risk of exclusion can reach their educational potential and the coaches are well supported.
