21K Digital Media Ltd is a newly formed company with social responsibility. The aim of the company is to assist talented disadvantaged young people who are at risk of becoming involved in gangs and criminal activities, and women living in Edmonton and surrounding areas by transforming their lives by introducing them to the opportunities that are opening up in the creative and digital industries. Edmonton is recorded as having the second highest youth violence in London and also calculated to be the most deprived of the 21 wards in the London Borough of Enfield. In addition, the same analysis estimates that it is within the 10% most deprived wards in London, and among the 10% most deprived in all of England. Our mission is to tackle the spate of knife crimes that in Edmonton by offering disadvantaged unemployed, young people and women the digital skills that employers need in the 21st century. Traditional low-level skill jobs are being replaced by technology and young people living in Edmonton must be equipped with the skills that are required in the digital economy. The alternative is that they will continue to be left behind in socioeconomical development and eventually become completely alienated from society; therefore, becoming vulnerable to being led into gang life and criminal activities.
