Khadi London (Khadi CIC), was founded in 2014 to promote locally spun and handwoven natural fabrics of India in UK. The company’s mission has evolved since then as we have interacted with our clients who value craft and provenance while challenging the unsustainable practices of fast fashion and the throwaway culture. We now also have our own brand of products. To meet the needs of clients, we have formed partnerships with social enterprises based in different parts of India. We work closely with them to build capacity, improve standards, and design, and adopt better business practices. A part of this interaction is to promote the production of fabrics using locally available fibres, providing fair benefits to producing communities, and using appropriate technology. Knowledge management and networking are also an important part of the business. We have formed alliances with other small businesses with a similar ethos.
